About

World AIDS Day & the Half Marathon

Every 1 December, the world marks World AIDS Day (WAD) โ€” a moment to remember those lost to AIDS-related illness, celebrate progress in treatment, and recommit to ending the epidemic. The WAD 2026 Half Marathon channels that commitment into action.

About NSDCC

The National Syndemic Diseases Control Council (NSDCC) is the Kenyan government body coordinating the national response to HIV/AIDS, TB, and related syndemic diseases โ€” aligning government, civil society, and development partners around one strategy.

Why a Marathon

Sport brings people together across every background. The WAD Half Marathon turns that energy into direct funding for testing, treatment, and community awareness โ€” while giving every runner, from first-timer to elite athlete, a reason to move.
