Each year, World AIDS Day is observed globally on December 1 to commemorate lost lives, celebrate progress in the HIV response and show solidarity with all those living with and affected by HIV. To mark this year’s World AIDS Day, the NSDCC is in collaboration with County Governments, Development and Implementing Partners, Communities of people living with or affected by HIV, and other Stakeholders, will host a National Half Marathon and Commemorative Event on Sunday, November 30, 2025, at Nyayo Stadium, Nairobi County, under the theme: “One Race, One Goal: Ending AIDS among Adolescents and Young People.”
This flagship event will leverage Kenya’s world-class athletic legacy to drive advocacy and public awareness, ahead of county-level commemorations on December 1, 2025. The Marathon will spotlight the Triple Threat of new HIV infections, mistimed pregnancies, and sexual and gender-based violence among adolescents and young people. All proceeds will go towards purchasing dignity kits for vulnerable girls and boys.
