In 2025, the World AIDS Day national and county commemorations will build on this heritage by using marathons as a vehicle for public education and service delivery. The national half-marathon event will be held at Nyayo Stadium on the 30th of November, 2025. The goal is to inspire collective action toward ending AIDS as a public health threat, with a strong focus on protecting children and adolescents from the triple threat of new HIV infections, unintended pregnancies, and sexual and gender-based violence.
